Starting on Dec 1st, and continuing through Advent, a community advent calendar will be able to be seen in the windows of David Atkinson Car Sales (by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Atkinson). Twenty four groups from around the area have made a picture based on the letters of the alphabet.  If you can’t get to see the pictures in person they will be displayed day by day on the Dalton Community Church Facebook page

Quiz Night

‘Soup & Quiz Night at Beacon Hill’

On Saturday 10th November

All who took part

The ‘Soup & Quiz Night’ at Beacon Hill on Saturday 10th November was a great success. 30 people enjoyed a good chat over some very tasty soups before testing their brainpower. The quiz – 12 rounds covering a wide variety of topics – was won by a team from Trinity, who scored a very impressive 95 ½ out of 120! Congratulations to Margaret Manvell, Christine Bird, Margaret Biddle and Brenda Harrison!

The aim of the evening was to raise money for a Christian Aid project in Kenya, supporting children orphaned by or suffering from HIV/AIDS. £180 was donated, which was excellent in itself; but this becomes even more significant as the amount will be multiplied by 17 by US AID, who are partnering Christian Aid in this project.

A big thank you to everyone who took part in the event!!

Re:New Community Charity Shop

Do you have anything that you don’t wear or use any more? Are you thinking it’s a shame to just throw it away??

Well why not give it a new lease of life by donating it to re:new who can find it a new home!! We accept anything you want to give to us, and as any money raised from the sale of your goods benefits the community that you live in who better to give it to!!
